The flower pencil expresses the shape of symbolic Japanese flowers in each pencil’s cross-section.
Constructed from eco-friendly materials derived from waste paper products, HANA offers both a range of unique colours and a unique tactile quality not found in wood or plastic alternatives.
Thanks to the flower pencil’s unique shapes, when sharpened, the shavings take on the appearance of real flower petals.
When producing pencils using traditional techniques, most of the wood remains unused and is ultimately discarded. The unique material with which HANA is constructed is not only sourced from recycled paper, but is less wasteful to manufacture, as it can be molded as though it were plastic.
The designs are cherry flowers, red plum, dandelions, tokiwa and balloon flower.
